Jefferson Township is one of thirteen townships in Putnam County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,318 (up from 1,252 at 2010[3]) and it contained 526 housing units.[4]

History

The Melville F. McHaffie Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.[5] The former Mill Creek Township consolidated with Jefferson Township in the mid-1930s.[6]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 41.1 square miles (106 km2), all land.[3]
